PREVIEW AiPHT

Prior to the AiPHT2018 art fair, PREVIEW AiPHT will introduce works from participating artists by holding exhibitions on the Lobby Floor (25th) and the Artist Floor (31st) at Park Hotel Tokyo. Guests will have a chance to preview the fair atmosphere through a variety of different artists’ works including painting, photography, sculpture and more.

Process of Making Artist Rooms

Themed around “Japanese aesthetic sensibility” Artist Rooms at Park Hotel Tokyo express each invited artists’ unique way of seeing things. We will ask the artists who created the Artist Rooms to share stories behind the making of the rooms; their enthusiasms and concepts for the project, how they worked, secret episodes and more. We also plan to make a tour of the Artist Rooms after each talk.

Talk with Mr. Atsuhiko Shima, Director of 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa

After working as curator and researcher at the Museum of Modern Art, Toyama and the National Museum of Art, Osaka, Mr. Atsuhiko Shima was the director of the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art and he is currently the director of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. We will ask Mr. Shima, a museum expert, to share many secret stories behind art management, including his unique way of making exhibitions and episodes about scouting for young talented artists.
